Die Herzogin Philippine Charlotte (1716-1801), Ehefrau von Herzog Karl I. und Schwester Friedrichs II. von Preußen, besaß eine Bibliothek von ca. 4000 Bänden. Diese kam nach ihrem Tod als letzte einer Reihe welfischer Fürstinnen- und Fürstenbibliotheken in die herzogliche Bibliothek nach Wolfenbüttel. Es existieren zwei handschriftliche Kataloge, die zu ihre Lebzeiten angefertigt wurden. Der Bücherbestand ging im 19. Jahrhundert im neueren Bestand der Bibliothek auf und steht heute verstreut in der Mittleren Aufstellung.Rekonstruktion: Henrike Fricke-Steyer, 2023
